We’re giving away one free set per day, from now until the 4th of July…

Ready to win? Just mention how much you want free BuckyBalls (www.getbuckyballs.com) on Twitter. We’ll be searching and randomly selecting a winner everyday. Not on Twitter? It’s OK. Just mention how much you want free BuckyBalls (www.getbuckyballs.com) in your facebook status update.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Swedish Midsummer

WHEN: June 19th, this afternoon.
WHERE: Battery Park.
WHAT: The annual Swedish Midsummer Celebration is a glorious mix of blonds, flowers, booze (no one’s going to stop you from having a shot of Akvavit or two), games, a revelry set to celebrate the Friday closest to the summer solstice. Scheduled activities are as follows…
5:00 pm: Sing-along led by Swedish choir Sound of Sweden
5:30 pm: Traditional Swedish music by Daniel Dahlin and fiddlers from
the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis
6:15 pm: Midsummer pole procession and welcoming remarks
6:30 pm: Music and dancing around the midsummer pole with performances
by Barnklubben Elsa Rix and Swedish Folkdancers of New York
led by Jeanne Eriksson Widman
7:30 pm: Musical performance by Kristoffer Ragnstam
7:50 pm: Grand finale with Daniel Dahlin and fiddlers

NOTE: This picture, taken at last year’s is every bit as awkward as it would appear, but only because I was once set up on a blind date with the girl (Jennifer) that didn’t go to plan. Midsummer really is fun. See you there.

To Groom or Not To Groom?

I don’t know why, but this year, I’m feeling more and more anti-manscaping by the second (read: lazy). If you simply must touch razor to fur-shirt, here are some fun patterns to consider. And there’s more where that came from; check the full collection after the jump, apraise your manvas (like canvas, get it?) and go to town.

FUN VIDEO: Reservoir Frogs

The Muppets do the tipping scene from Reservoir Dogs. WARNING: They say “fuck” just as many times as you remember. If you work in the kind of place where fuzzy-fuckers are frowned upon, this might be NSFW.

Gummi Opperation

Playing with Gummi Bears is fun…
Photographing them is funner…
But I’m pretty sure performing surgery is the funnest…

Instructables has the full how-to on a number of different sugary surgeries. How fun is that?

Got Sleeves?

Sure, sure, sure, sometimes it’s fun to watch Al Roker blather on about nothing while floundering around in a wet-suit (er, wait, either he was on location this week, or I’ve been having some truly bizarre dreams)… sometimes it’s better just to know what you’re going to need to wear when you leave the house. When a number and wind-chill-factor simply won’t do there’s Sleeves. Give them your zip, they give you the required sleeve-length. How fun is that?

Urly Show Podcast #9

The kids over at URLesque were kind enough to have me up as this week’s special guest in their podcast. It was 45 minutes of deeply therapeutic Jake-talk (to know me is to know that I often like weaving yarns… about myself). We talk Zoomdoggle, fun, Road Rules, penis molds, interwebs, pasts, presence (sic), and future.

BONUS: At the top of the show I give 5 things you could do for fun if you get bored listening. Yup, it’s that kind of party.

DOUBLE BONUS: There’s a BuckyBalls giveaway challenge toward the end. Four sets are up for grabs. What are you waiting for?

HONORARY DOGGLERS: Vice Magazine

I’ve been screaming for eons now about all the fun to be had with the office coppier, but Vice magazine took it there. No really. Big time. Their latest issue (available for free anywhere Vice is available for free) features a multi-page spread shot from both sides (camera and copier). How fun is that? Can’t wait? There’s more – VERY NSFW – shots after the jump. NSFW, did I say that already?

FUN VIDEO: URDB on Babelgum

Bablegum’s Radar has an amazing micro-doc (yup, I just coined a new term) on the URDB featuring yours truly among many, many, incredible others. I know I’ve been screaming “next big thing” for a while now, but seeing it all stacked together really drives the point home. Sadly, unless I’m confused, Bable doesn’t do embeds… you’re going to have to click over to enjoy the goodness.

Thanks to fish-sandwich lover Todd Lamb for sending it in.

QUICK: What Are You Thinking Of?

It seems Buzzfeed’s Scott Lamb has been dabbling in the dark arts. Says Scott: I bet I can see what’s in your mind from where I sit at the keyboard, if you’ll just answer a few simple questions. DO NOT skip ahead!” Next, Scott the magnificent instructs:

    1. Choose a number between 1 and 10.

    Got it? Ok.

    2. Take that number and multiply by 9.

This shouldn’t be too tricky, but take your time.

    3. If your number is a two-digit number, add the numbers together. If not, skip ahead.

    Ok.

    4. Now, subtract 5 from the number.

I think I’m getting close here. Just a few more questions.

    5. Line your number up with its corresponding letter of the alphabet.

    So, 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, 4=D, 5=E, etc.

    6. Think of a country that begins with the letter you’ve got.

Now, this is important, and where things get hard, so when you’ve got your country, I want you to concentrate on it VERY HARD for a few seconds. I’ll be here in the internet, trying to intercept your brainwaves.

    7. Next, you need to envision an animal whose name begins with the LAST letter of the country you were just thinking about.

The picture’s almost clear. One or two more steps and I’ll have you.

    8. Finally, take the last letter of that animal and think of a fruit that BEGINS with that same letter.

Now hold it in your mind!! I think it’s coming clear finally…

    9. You are thinking of a kangaroo eating an orange in Denmark!!!!!

    Amirite?

Is the man amazing or what? (Note: If you choose “amazing” that means you fit squarely in the 98% of people who will allegedly wind up with kangaroos in Denmark, if you said “what” you’re wired for free thought. How fun is that?)
