MAKE: Star Trek Doors

I know you think it’s nerdy. So did I. Then I watched it and the gears started turning. Fast. I need this. We all do. I never realized how sexy that hissing sound is. Instructables has the full how-to after the jump.

QUICK: How About We

Looking for a fun date? Instead of choosing the person by their picture – boobs! -  then trying to convince them to do whatever it is you think would be a good time, why not suggest the date and see who rasies their hand. Oh my god, this is so smart it hurts. Put the date back in dating. Invent fun dates. Ask each other out. Do something awesome.

QUICK: Centipede A Friend’s Profile

Here’s how it’s done:

1 – Upload this picture to your profile 5 times.

2 – Tag the same friend in each picture.

3 – See how long it takes them to realize.

Not comfortable with the Human Centipede reference? Thanks to the new Facebook profile layout there’s tons of other things you could do. Hell write a message across the top a friends profile by tagging them in 5 different pictures with 5 different words in them. You can get creative by taking a pictures of yourself holding a sheets of paper with each word on it.

Something tells me you’re about to be seeing a lot of this type of thing in the near future. Especially if we’re friends on Facebook.

MAKE: Melting Snowman Cookies

Snowman cookies are nice and all, but melting snowman cookies have just enough cynicism and irony baked for fun. Full instructions and how-to after the jump.

QUICK: Play Penis Camouflage

Here’s how it’s played: One person draws a penis (there’s a stamp you can use if you buy the kit). Then a theme is selected. Finally, someone dresses-up the wanger such that it fits the theme. See the pictures above and it all starts to make sense, right? Tons of fun.

I’m not suggesting any steals anything, all I’m saying is, there’s got to be a way to play the game without actually buying the game. A pen and a piece of paper is all it takes. Yup, no need to play tic tac toe ever again while waiting for the food to come out.

WATCH: 10 Ways To Avoid Work

That’s right, this video (plus some dish soap and few other odds and ends) should be all you need to procrastinate for a long, long time. And on that note, I’ve got a postcard to step through.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: No Pants Subway Ride 2011

WHERE: NYC Baby (and beyond, check Improv Everywhere for listings of other locals)
WHEN: Sunday, Jan 9th
WHAT: Your annual opportunity to drop trau with thousands of strangers and ride the MTA much to the delight and confusion of, well, other strangers. I’m jumping the gun a little on this one, but only cause I’m that very excited. Good times all around. Interesting side note: Back when I was single all I wanted was a “bubbly” lady friend (ie, one who enjoyed fun as much as do; making it, chasing it, doing it). I couldn’t figure out where to go to meet a lady like that though. This might be it. Seriously. RSVP via Facebook.

MAKE: PhotoTimeCapsules

All it takes is 60 seconds, and a Flickr around. Photojojo does the rest. Twice a month you’ll be getting emails of your own pictures from a year ago… Good times. Yup.

MAKE: Flashing Fingers

All it takes is a few pieces of black tape and what was once a stop n’ go signal for pedestrians suddenly instantly becomes some sort of commentary on the commuter culture of today. That and it looks fun while it flashes.

Fun, right? Whoever figured this out is my new hero.
