Zoomdoggle: More fun than work!

The world’s most annoying alarm blows. Hard. How fun is that?

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, New York Spa Castle might well be the funnest place on Earth (or at least in Queens this time of year). It took an after work trip last night to jog my memory, but here’s the deal: Five floors of indoor and outdoor spas, massages, food, uniforms and booze. Plus digital “wristwatches” you waive in front of your locker to pop it open, or at the register to charge your account. What’s not to love?

SLRs are fun right? Ready to turn it up a notch? Try removing the L (lense) and just holding it at various angles in front of the SR (er, camera) while you take pictures. What you wind up with are photos that play with depth and focus the way only large format bellows cameras (the kind the guy sticks his head under the hood before taking the picture) typically do. WHAT: Just another reason New York City is the funnest place to be around the holidays. Watching it from across the street is good times, but taking it in from your desk is almost as good. If this doesn’t bring out the kid in you, it’s time for a c-section (of fun?).

Google: Always thinking. Use this well-designed kit to send a well-meaning and customized pack of how-to videos to your parents to aid in their ability to sort-out their own tech worries and woes. So far, 1800+ parents served. Will yours be among them? Or will your trip home be spent fixing glitches and giving tutorials on Mom and Dad’s machines?

The thought doesn’t always count… but if that’s all you’re thinking of getting someone this holiday season, why not spend $5 extra to get a kit (complete with multiple receipt and shipping emails that come a few days apart) to make it look like you tried to get them something, it just got lost in the mail? Now that’s thinking. And funner than trying to explain why you Scrooged them over when they hand you a gift and you’ve got nothing in your bad with their name on it. Yup.
