Did you know that Saturday is the only day of the week in which its English name comes from Roman Mythology? Â Saturnus the god of agriculture in fact. Â See, not just fun this site, Zoomdoggle’s edutainmentation too!

I’ll be spending my Saturnus Day making a big bonfire and maybe bake some potatoes – yum. Â I’m also working on getting more followers for my cause-related twitter thing – @twipple AND I may paint a boiled egg, haven’t done that since I was kid. Â Top the weekend off by scaring myself stupid in Fallout 3 (I should stick to Mario).
Enough about me though, tell us what you’re up to in the comments – quick!

Last time I looked it was Monday. Â This weekend really snuck up on me, gave me quite a fright I can tell you! Myself, I’m at my course which I love but takes up the whole weekend leaving almost not time to finish watching the awesome and extremely funny “The IT Crowd” on DVD. What are you all up to this weekend? Let us know in the comments section. Best post wins the respect, admiration, and love of your peers.

EDITORS NOTE: Typically Floyd files these things mid-day and I rush to insta-photoshop an image to go along with it using key words and themes he writes and maybe a head or two that I steel from his or my facebook pages. Today, I’m just too busy, so I figured I’d make a game of it.
Anyone with some ‘shop skills is encouraged to CLICK HERE for a set of 7 crudely cut-out Jake and Floyd heads. Use any, all, or none, along with anything else you can scrounge up online (you can even include your own head if you like), to create an image for Floyd’s “weekend fun” post. It should be 600 pixels wide to fit with Zoomdoggle’s formatting. After you’ve done that, send it off to artplay at zoomdoggle dot com and leave a comment below so I can be sure to check the mailbox and post your creation ASAP. Anything you make goes up so long as it’s not crude, rude, or lewd. How fun is that?
Jessica Culver sends in this gem, with the note “What’s more fun than a long ride?”

Amazing! Anyone else up to the challenge?
Reader Eric Tabone writes, “According to my friend, my dad in 1982-83 looks like you. Or you look like him. Not sure which.” You be the judge:
SIDE NOTE: Anyone know why my fonts are coming out all jagged today? I hate that and have some serious design-stuff to do later on. Any help/info/thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Remember some time back when we first posted about the Snuggie pub crawl? CLICK HERE FOR THE ORIGINAL POST.
In the days that followed, the Chicago organizers contacted me about helping set-up a New York event. Unfortunately I was too busy. Regardless, in the little more than a month since, they’ve sprung up all over the place. CLICK HERE FOR THE COMPLETE LIST.
Sadly, all is not well in the world of Snug. Several local chapters have begun succeeding, unsure of where their $20 entry fee is going or why they should pay at all. SF Weekly has a story about their event (I highly recomend checking it out)… one of the few to go rogue. CLICK HERE FOR THE COMPLETE STORY.
Last but not least, nothing is complete these days without an iPhone ap or Facebook group. Snuggie lovers take a giant leap in that direction with the launch of SnuggieBook, the social network with sleeves. CLICK HERE TO BEAR WITNESS.

Welcome to the 12th Weekend of the year (and happy New Year Persian People!)
Not only is it the weekend, it’s also the start of a week of holiday/vacation (yup, I’m taking a week off) – woo and indeed, hoo!
The plan? Chillax. Â Start making a vegetable garden, make another curry and destroy mutant nasties in just-bought-it-today Fallout 3. Â Bring it.
Quick! Â In the comments, whatcha all doin’? Â Funnest answer may win you an amazing Zoomdoggle Bucky ball if Uncle Jake is feeling generous
Thisisbigthisisbigthisisbig… Zoomdoggle’s home away from home and long-time brother in arms URDB is on Fallon tonight! This is not to be missed. Watch in awe as a simple fun idea (a wiki of world records where anyone can invent a category in which to post – why not we’re all special – and anyone else can top – as they should, humanities need for achievement is fundamental) begins to catch on. BIG TIME. Well done homies. The fun club supports its own. Always.

Wait, Zubaz are back on the market? You don’t say.
Quick, what’s the single most embarressing item you own? Answers in the comments section please. This ought to be fun…

BuckyBalls: Yesterday the first 100 sets left the fulfillment center. How cool is it that Zoomdoggle even has a fulfillment center? It sounds fun but peaceful, right? Anyway, if you ordered last week, the USPS is now making their way to your door, balls in hand. Bottom line, I can’t wait to hear what you think.
Need Fun contest: When I posted that post, the top user of this free service (did I mention it’s free, and fun, why haven’t you tried it?) had texted in for a random fun idea 312 times! That means Orek, with a guess of 311, wins a Gummi Print. Next, a lot of the fun idea responses posted made smile, but the first one I actually tried myself was Jacob’s: “When people aren’t looking make funny faces at them. If you are caught, casually ask them if they’d like to date you.” (I just made the faces, no asking out, but a fun idea nonetheless). For that, Jacob as well wins a gummi print. Both of you should send your mailing addresses to iwon at zoomdoggle dot com. Lastly, my top texter 347-583-80XX, you’ve won a print too, you’ve just got to answer my ping with an address as well.
Love Letters: At present somewhere around half have been sent (some to as far off as Vietnam and Australia). We’re no longer taking address, but if you posted a comment or sent in yours (even if I didn’t post your comment to the blog – yet) we’ve got it and you are on the to do list. I appreciate your patience. In related news, building the system for people to send anonymous love letters to one another is taking longer than expected as well—this things always do—but is in the works. On the bright side, it’s looking like the BuckyBalls are going to pay for all of this love letter business. So if you’ve ordered a set, know that they’re infused with love as well. Fun right?
I guess that’s it. Thanks for reading. Tell a friend. Leave a comment. I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am.
Typically, now would be the time when Floyd asks what it is you’ve got planned this weekend… only, he’s out of the country, doing whatever it is the British do when they go on vacation. That leaves just me, the lone wolf, a one man army of fun with—gulp—very little going on this weekend. Two things:
1. Let us know if you’ve got anything fun planned.
2. If you’ve got a sugjestion for yours truly, kindly feel free to post that below as well.
Lastly, I know there have been a couple of contests to which I owe a couple of people a couple of prints. Picking the winners is just about the only thing on this weekend’s to-do list. How fun is that?
