Fastest Consumption Of A 24-Ounce Bottle Of Aunt Jemima Syrup

Earning a hallowed spot in the world of competitive eating, Jake Bronstein sets a universal record by downing an entire 24-ounce bottle of Aunt Jemima Original Syrup in 2 minutes, 35 seconds.

Bronstein chose the category in homage to Super Troopers, a film that includes a legendary sryup chugging scene. He set the record on February 11, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society held at Pianos, a New York City bar. Corey Henderson and Marc Covitz were on hand to document and time the record.

BONUS: Jake has offered $1 (that’s right, one US dollar) to the first person who attempts to beat this record. Also, to see the aftermath, click here.

To kick off 2009 in style, the World Record Appreciation Society (W.R.A.S.) invites you to join us for what should be a legendary night of record setting. At this extremely special event, you’ll have an opportunity to get onstage and set your own world record in front of a cheering (and possibly uncontrollable) crowd. As long as records are quantifiable, breakable and legal, they’re welcome on our stage.

Mark your calender: January 7, at New York’s Asia Roma on Mulberry Street. All are welcome to attend. Sign-up is on Facebook. It should be fun.
