First Weekend of 2009: WHAT DO YOU HAVE PLANNED?

Man, the first week back at work/school is tough isn’t it? Back to 8am starts and sardine-crush commutes for yours truly. Still, it’s good to have the brain going again!

Now it’s time for the first weekend of 2009!  Woo!  Santa was very good to me last year, so I will be spending most of my time playing Fable 2 on the my shiny new Xbox 360! Tell us what fun things you have planned in the comments section. There are fabulous/stupid prizes for the best suggestion.

Play Bubble Pop

Click the bubbles to pop ‘em to before they escape. My top score? Just shy of 3K. How’d you do? Click the pic to get the game.

Benny Hill-ify Any Video

A simply script drops the Benny Hill chase music into any Youtube video. Click over, as your video’s URL and boom… aside from the suddenly naked ladies and the sped-up tape, just about anything looks better Hill-ified!

Quick: It’s The Weekend, What Do You Have Planned?

The last weekend before Xmas is here and what do the Zoomdoggle Nation have planned? I’ll be decorating a tree – a special occasion as it’s the first tree I’ve cut down with my own hands. I’m looking forward to making a few decorations too. Glitter, glue, paper, colored pens – old school fun! What will you be doing? Let us know in the comments section. The funnest of the day will earn a prize of epic daftness (the last winner has something called a Banana Bunker en route to them as we speak).

Cut it Out!

Look at what I’ve found this weekend: Giant King of the Hill cut-outs! Whether this is the result of Guerrilla marketing, art project or just plain daftness remains to be seen.

Regardless, everyone who passed by laughed and commented, proving even just a little fun can attract and hold people’s attention. This is particularly tricky feat given the amount of informational clutter in the environment around Bowery and Broadway.

If you know anything about them, drop us a line in the comments.

Woo! It’s the Weekend! WHAT DO YOU HAVE PLANNED?

What is the Doggle nation doing for fun this weekend?

I’m tempted to buy a go-kart and dress up as Yoshi in homage to the awesome Remi but alas, I have to work. I’m hoping to eek out some time to get to Forbidden Planet to see what I’ve been missing in the world of comics for the past 5 years or so. Slumdog Millionnair is also on the list.

Tell us what you’re all up to in the comments section and you could win one of our famously daft prizes for the best suggestion.

Blow Out The Interactive Cake For Charity

When I’m not hanging out with Jake plotting fun things, I’m busy at my day job. Chained to my mac devising ideas for Cunning. It’s hard work, but someone has to do it.

I’ve been there for 10 years (wowzer!) and this year is our 10th birthday.

To celebrate we’ve baked a special online birthday cake. Go to http://www.cunning.com/birthdaycake, blow out the candles (no really, try it) and have a wish on us. We’ll match it by supporting our fellow youngsters with a donation to Action For Children or, in the U.S., Children in Need. Turn on your mic and speakers for best results. No mic or speakers? No problem, just blow anyway and make a wish.

It’s the Weekend: What are you doing that’s fun?

What’s everyone doing for fun this weekend? The gf isn’t around, so it’s a good opportunity for me to indulge in my favorite fun vice, a relaxing, occasionally stimulating and fun hobby I’ve had since I was 7 years old.
No, not that, I’m talking about video gaming.
I’ll be kicking back in front of the fire with my Nintendo DS to try and finish the remaining campaigns on Advance Wars coupled with a bit of Zelda – The Phantom Hourglass.

So that’s my idea of fun, what’s yours? Let us know what antics you have planned in the comments section. There’s a special Zoomdoggle prize for the best suggestion.*
*don’t get too excited, it’ll be cheap!

Old Ads

Here’s a cheap and fun distraction: next time you find yourself at a flea market or second-hand bookstore, pick up a few old women’s magazines.

Ignore the articles and take out all the ads. Not only do you get to laugh at all the cheesy hair and make-up but you get to see how ridiculous advertising claims are with the benefit of hindsight.

It’s all the fun of watching Mad Men without any of the perky morals!

Fame at Last

If you’ve ever wanted to see your face everywhere, here’s your chance!

Photofunia allows you to upload an image – could be you, your friend, your boss or your pet. Once done, chose from a wide range of scenes such as Billboard ads, art galleries, Paris Hilton’s new CD or even Times Square. Your pic is then automatically sized and dropped into the scene.

It’s sort of like being famous except without all the hassle (or cash unfortunately). It’s free, fast and loads of fun
