MoHDI: The Laughatorium

This week I will probably be pulling some of my favorite posts from MoHDI.com.

One of my favorite ideas is the Laughatorium, basically it’s a small room where you cram a bunch of people and blast them with laughter. You can read more about the concept HERE.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: GeoCities Closes (win a set of Buckyballs)

WHERE: Today, October 26th
WHERE: GeoCities, “a place for you to express yourself”
WHAT: The end of an era. Where were you the day the flames went away and reflections stopped reflecting. In truth, the pages still exist (at least until the end of the day) you just can’t add a new one. That said, anyone want a free set of Buckyballs? Post the best, worst, most interesting or horrific GeoCities page you can still find below. Best one at midnight tonight, wins a free set of Buckyballs. BONUS: Jake told me he’d made a page long long ago. Clearly if anyone finds that it’s an insta-win. Fun, right?

LINK: GeoCities.

FUN VIDEO: Gentleman rhymer

While watching videos about gazebos, I stumbled across this haberdasher. I thought you might find his rhymes rather entertaining.

UPDATE: Position Filled

My name is not Jake, it’s Drew. This week I’ll be taking on the roll of Jake, at least online.
Since this is the is my first blog post I thought I would simply introduce myself and give you an idea of what I hope to achieve in this week.

THE INTRODUCTION:
My name is Drew Anderson, I moved to Brooklyn, NY a little over a year ago from Portland Oregon. I have been on and off running MoHDI.com for the past few years. Basically it has been a depository for those ideas that often don’t find a home. I’ll probably be pulling some of my favorite inventions and ideas from MoHDI this week to share with you.

I’m also on a lot of the same social networks that Jake is on.
Facebook, Twitter and I use Flickr a lot too.

While I hope we get to know each other a lot better this week, I would say you could probably learn more about me through my social networks than perhaps you want to know.

TAKE OVER PLANS:
Please keep in mind I’ve had very little time to prepare for this position but, I want to let you in on my initial plans as I take over Jake’s online presence.

I plan to…

- Find and share awesome content including games, applications, sites, images, videos, inventions, ideas and more…
- Produce original content. I hope to produce as much awesomeness as possible for you all.
- Tweet all over the place… I like tweeting and you can follow HERE as I tweet with Jake’s account.
- Improve Communications with readers, followers and friends.
- Make several improvements to the site. (I got all access you know)
- Do some good. I have a project I’ll push forward with as Jake this week.
- Make some awesome new friends. Perhaps even hang out with some of Jake’s friends.

While I have a some more ideas for this week I’d really like to hear what you have to say…
What would you do if got to be the online Jake for a week? I’d love to hear you thoughts and ideas.

I’m very fortunate to be in this position this week. A lot of very amazing people applied to be Jake this week. Thanks for bringing me on board we are going to have fun.
