Make Your Own Comics

Truth by told, I’ve never tried playing tag in an office. I did once live in an office though, at Men’s Fitness which we shared with Star Magazine. I kept my clothes under my desk, showered at the gym, and had to pretend I was working every time the guard passed me by at night.

Anyway, I’ve only just started playing with Bit Strips, the online comic generator, where you can make whole strips, borrow other people’s characters and backgrounds, even use famous people, but I will be… Way more fun than hiding your laundry in the supply closet.

The Egg Smasher

Another Egg-Doggle. This time, one that fuses the pure joy of playing with your food (anything but open-mouth chewing of course) and the linear thought of an executive desk toy. How fun is that?

The Graf-Generator

Jake Bronstein Graphitti

As pretty much the only guy to grow up in Philadelphia and not know how to write graffiti (at least not the pretty kind), this graf-generator is right up my alley.

NOTE: Pun intended, but sounds funny.

Multiple fonts. Endless colors. Fully customizable. You know the drill. So far, this is the best I’ve come up with, but it’s kept me smiling for almost an hour now. Thanks to Yianni The Social Media Guy for sending it my way.

Is This Love?

Went by a friend’s office after-hours to do more of that copy-doggling (sticking your head in a copier) I’m so fond of.

Selecting bigger paper gave us a nice large work-space to play with. And, same as before, by changing your expression as the light bar passes, or dragging your face along with it, you can get some really nice art out of the machine.

It was when she started playing too though that things got really interesting. Look at the way she fades into the background. Oh, the magic of Xerox machines.

I can’t tell, was it just a doggle, or could this be the start of something more? Read the rest of this entry »

Scavenger Hunt

So without giving too much away (primarily because I know very, very little) Prototype161 is looking for “agents” in New York this weekend to solve a mystery

…anyone care to join me?

The Bubble Calender

Aaron, the ever-inquisitive brand guru, asks, “If Zoomdoggle were an organizer, how would it work?”

That’s a tough one. It would have to be fun. And useful. But not too useful, you know; child friendly, but not childish…

The Bubble Calender is a giant wall calender made of large, satisfying bubble you can pop one day at a time.

Don’t be scared to be impressed, Zoomdoggle has an answer for everything. Really.

Honorary Doggler: Drizzy D.R.O.

It started with a simple idea: Derek ‘Drizzy D.R.O’ Davis invited his friends they could call him up and he’d rap about any subject they wanted. Turns out they liked it so much that friends told friends and, well, you know what happens next… Drizzy’s Press/Play hotline is now kind of big deal in 3 countries. Dial 205-617-9166. If he answers, he’ll rap about anything you ask him to, if he doesn’t, leave a message and he’ll get back to you with a ‘customized rap.’

We called and talked to someone high as hell. On the second go-round we left a message though. Can’t wait to hear what rhymes with “Doggle.”

An Extra-speacial Thanks-Doggle

Jake Bronstein

Betcha didn’t even know I was gone, did you? All last week, south of the border, yours truly. That said, a million thank-yous to long-time comrade Adam Winer for keeping the show up and running.

Some other things you might find interesting:

Though I considered alternatives, air ravel is still best left to the professionals.

For better or worse, just about every picture on the site here is clickable.

Last but not least, Karl Pilkington is an orange-headed mank. Don’t know what that means? Have a listen to Ricky Gervaispodcasts (they’re free to download on iTunes) and funny as hell. Kept me entertained when even the donkey show didn’t.

Phone-Doggle

Tiny cell phones might be cool.

Smart phones might amaze.

I’d bet dollars to doughnuts nothing is more laugh-tastic than a rotary cell phone.

This is not a drill. This is for real people. $299.99 gets you one fully functional, assembled and tested, Portable Rotary Phone. All you have to do is open the phone, insert your SIM card, and turn the unit on.

You can’t beat that with a bat.

Hamster-Doggle

Top five animals I’d like to be and why:

1. Monkey : The term “monkeying around” doesn’t come from their not knowing how to have a good time.

2. Panda bear : Cute. Cuddly (looking). Awesome.

3. Sea Otter : One of only 3 animals on the face of the Earth to use tools. They float on the surface when they sleep. And they kinda look like Wilfred Brimley.

4. Dog : Man’s best friend. Obviously.

5. Hamster: They’ve got balls. Soon though, they won’t be the only ones. Shocking.

Hopefully this is the way we’ll all travel in the future. Someone call Dean Kamen.
