QUICK: DJ At Your Desk

Yeah, yeah, yeah Turntable.fm is awesome and addictive (more on that later, maybe, if I’m not too busy cuing up the tracks myself… see if you can find me there), but if you really want to feel like a DJ you’re going to need to get your hands on the wheels of steel. Wheels Of Steel is the digital equivalant. And it’s free. I’m told scrach functionality is coming soon. How fun is that?

GET: Space Invaders Watch

Maybe “Get” is a little unrealistic, but “Want” for sure. Brace yourself, luxury watch maker Romain Jerome has collaborated with the TAITO Corporation on an ultra-exclusive set of watches. The Romain Jerome Space Invaders collection comes in two styles, with each style limited to 78 pieces. Both styles feature the same scene, with the only real difference being the color scheme. No price has been set yet, but in the words of Trendhunter Michael hines, “I would definitely expect these watches to cost quite a few quarters.” Yup.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: One Love NYC Date Auction

WHEN: July 13th, 7PM-Midnight
WHERE: NYC’s McFadden’s, 800 Second Ave.
WHAT: A chance to land a hot date, find out what you’re worth, and give to good cause all at once. “Use your charm, good looks and contacts to put together a great date package that someone would love to bid on (value $150+). Dinner and a show, sporting/concert event, zip lining, tickets to the gun show – whatever you and your date would enjoy doing that will help raise money… Insider tip – chicks do great when their dates are paired with interesting dates geared toward guys (i.e. a day with a golf pro). On the flipside, guys sell great when paired with dates geared toward chicks (i.e. a day at the spa).” All proceeds are going to One Love Generation, a non-profit that empowers youth to inspire positive social change through art, service and awareness. Good times, right?

Want to get auctioned (word is they’ve got loads more girls signed-up than guys; gotta like them odds), Send 2-4 horizontal, hi-res photos (that means long ways, minimum of 100kb in size), 4-6 fun facts about yourself, and a song for you to be intro’d to by Wednesday, June 29. Complete details after the jump.

PLAY: Famous Objects From Classic Movies

First, let me start by saying, “No need to email, I know I’m a wee bit late on this.” In fact, I’m going to be late on a lot of things while Zoomdoggle gets caught up. Luckily, these movies are still the classics they were when the game came out 6 months ago. The game is still well designed and fun. And, for the moment, I’d like to think my top score of 18 is something to be proud of. Beat it if you dare.

UPDATE: URDB becomes RecordSetter (and more)

Congrats to the whole team at URDB.org who, after nearly 4 record setting years in the world records game, have changed their name and extended their vision. Writes CEO Dan Rollman, “Over the past two years, a global community of thousands (the Record Setters!) has risen up and shown a desire to not just create and submit records, but to compete against one another, moderate submissions, voice opinions on rules, befriend fellow competitors and host offline events around the globe… This overwhelmingly positive feedback has given us the courage to evolve our vision to something beyond just a database.” As part of that switch, they’ve changed their name to RecordSetter (it’s a good one), but there’s more. Read all about it in Dan’s own words HERE.

And in related news, RecordSetters has just kicked off a partnership with Stride Gum and there’s $50,000 at stake! That’s right, set a record today and you could pocket cash tomorrow. Good times, yeah? Ready to get in on the action? CLICK HERE.

LOOK: Onion-like Headlines in Real Life

As promised, each of these headlines reads like they were clipped from the Onion. They weren’t (they link to the articles for proof). Every day brings new gems. Check the complete list, 30 or so and counting, after the jump. Fun, right?

WATCH: Wind Dance

This is what happens when skydivers watch OK GO! Also the reason my next job or office is going to have a wind tunnel. Admit it, it looks like fun.

QUICK: Find Your Doggelganger

Ready to find your furry-match? Upload a shot of your face to the Doggelganger (a clever marketing initiative for doggy addoption down under) and let it works it’s magic. I wanted to upload a shot of my own dog to see what kind of dog it thinks he’d match up best to, but Cash refused to sit still for the portait. Oh well.
