QUICK: Who’s Watching What and Where?

The New York Times has an amazing info-graphic that lets you scroll around different cities to see who’s renting what by zip code using Netflix data. How fun is that?

FUN VIDEO: Light Writing Proposal

When Derick Childress decided to propose to Emily Kern he knew he wanted to do something special, so he rented a hotel room, set the camera on a tripod and started flashing the city. Er, it’s way sweeter than it sounds. You’d almost have to say yes after a video like this, or buy a car (if that’s what it was selling); it’s very well done. Complete details and explanation after the jump.

QUICK: Lullatone (Rain Music)

Yesterday’s Audiotool too hard? Program and sequence music by clicking raindrops. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.

LOOK: Teacher Evaluation v2.0

Meet the fun future of teacher evaluations. Really, it’s just an clever illustration from NY Time’s Magazine, but this has to be the future. I tried printing them out so I could evaluate everyone I meet today, unfortunately it’s not high-res enough and kept printing funny. Oh well.

PLAY: Snake Eats Zombie

This is a two-handed toughie. The arrow buttons control the little blue snake. The mouse aims and shoots the gun. The zombies are coming. You know what to do. Also, don’t touch them and don’t touch the sides. Click the pic to get the game. High scores below if you’re so inclined.

CONTRIBUTE: It’s Embarrassing

I’m embarrassed to say it, but well, I like this video enough to have watched it all the way to the end. Twice. Post something you’re embarrassed to kinda-sorta-maybe like below. Best one by the end of the week wins a prize (a non-Buckyballs prize, how fun is that?). On a side note: Congrats to “Maggie” for winning the Unnecessary “Quotes” jam.

QUICK: Audiotool

Remember the Tone Matrix? This is some next-level, flash-based, music-making machinery right here. Put on some headphones, click over, and start composing your masterpiece.

NEW SPORT ALERT: Bouldering At Home

When this guy ‘hangs around the house’ he really ‘hangs around the house.’ Weak joke I know. Great video though. And there’s tons more after the jump.

MAKE: Phone-O-Scope

Step 1: Turn an ordinary camera phone into a professionally (er, kinda) appointed thing of beauty by mashing an SLR lens onto the front. Step 2: Run amok. Fun, right? Complete instructions after the jump.

HONORARY DOGGLER: Todd Lapin (Telstar Logistics)

Long story short: Todd set up a fictitious but real sounding company – Telstar Logistics, complete with logo, vehicles, complimentary pens, and paperwork – to gain access to places he shouldn’t. The pictures are amazing, there’s millions more after the jump, but the long version of the story is even funner. Have a look.
