HONORARY DOGGLER: Mark Malkoff

Remember way back when when our friend Mark Malkoff said he needed a lift? The final product is here. “Mark Gets Carried Away” chronicles his trip from the southern most end of Manhattan to as far north as possible by having people physically carry him. 155 different people hoisted him 9.4 miles. How fun is that?

FUN VIDEO: 2 Girls 1 Cup Grandma Reaction!

More than two years after the fact, watching Grandma watch is still good times. She keeps watching, he keeps laughing. How fun is that?

FUN READ: Unhappy Hipsters

“And one day, a ladder appeared. Julien climbed with guarded optimism; could this be the way out for which he’d been searching all these weeks?” Meet my favorite new blog. Pictures lifted from the pages of Dwell Magazine, expertly captioned, and infinitely smile-worthy. It’s more of a knowing nod than an LOL, but sometimes that’s all it takes. Yup.

HONORARY DOGGLER: Charles Guan

A shopping cart with a steering wheel that goes 30MPH. How fun is that? Of course it was made by an MIT student, and of course it was named the ‘LOLriocart’ for it’s Mario Cart inspiration. Of course this video makes us want to take a ride, big time.

MAKE: Freelens Photos

Freelensing is a new (to us anyway) technique whereby you take the lens, hold it in front of the camera, and adjust the focal plane by tilting, turning, and moving it to make for interesting photos. Typically the effect is something that can only be accomplished with a large format camera (the ones with the bellows in between the lens and the body). Doing it with your SLR can be fun. Photojojo has the how-to.

LOOK: American Apparel Wants Bums

American Apparel is looking for a new rear to be their face. The winners will be flown to LA, photographed and featured online. Entries are pouring in by the, well, butt-load. Poke around after the jump.

PLAY: Transcripted

Your main goal is to disrupt a chain of some kind of strange DNA by creating groups of 3 or more elements of the same color. Sounds boringly familiar ? Well, there’s just a catch: You’ll have to do it while playing a shooter at the same time. Click the pic to make the jump. Read the instructions before pushing play.

FUN VIDEO: Shane Sings 5 Octaves On Piano

I know it’s made the rounds already and it’s plain to see how well Shane can sing, but what I’ve just discovered is how equally enjoyable it is to watch on mute. Don’t ask why, but it would seem all of the mysteries of the universe are hidden in Shane’s subtle Zen-like facial twitches. It’s like watching that bag swirl around in American Beauty.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: International Pillow Fight Day

WHEN: Saturday, April 3rd 2010
WHERE: It’s global baby, click below for local listings (in NYC it’s on Union Square)
WHAT: A chance to take it back to basics, swing at friends foes and everyone in between and watch the feathers fly! As far as the how-to, if you’ve got to ask, it’d already lost the battle. Just bring a pillow (feathers are messy so also bring a good attitude toward clean-up) and brace yourself for impact. It’s gonna be a fun one.

QUICK: Make A Snowlake, Do Some Good (Flurious)

Every snowflake is different and making them is quick and easy with Flurious. Here’s the thing though, one you’ve manufactured your frosty little friend you can post it, along with a message to the Flurious Squal or you could send it to a friend. For every snowflake forwarded to a friend $1 is donated to Unicef. How fun is that?
