QUICK: Force Yourself Offline (Freedom)

Ready for freedom? This is scary, fun, and brilliant all rolled up into one. Download the app. Dial in how much freedom you need (up to 8 hours worth). From that point on, beg, borrow, or steal, there’s no internet for you. Freedom is, of course, free. HFIT? But it’s only for the Mac (go figure).

GET: Dear Andy Kaufman, I Hate Your Guts!

If you love Kaufman like I do, this book is going to make you happy. Per Amazon: “Famous for his role as Latka Gravas on television’s Taxi and for his appearances on Saturday Night Live and his own variety show, the legendary eccentric performer Andy Kaufman provoked a national outrage in 1977 by taunting the women of America and challenging them to wrestle him live on television. Taking on an aggressive and ridiculous personality based upon the characters invented by professional wrestlers, he offered a $1,000 reward to any woman who could pin him. Thousands of fired-up females (and a few males) responded to the call, and Kaufman received a torrent of impassioned challenges, hate mail, and love letters from would-be wrestling contenders. These fascinating and sometimes bizarre handwritten letters, photographs, and illustrations from would-be contenders are here assembled into an astonishing Rorschach of the late ‘70s liberated female psyche.” It doesn’t come out for a few days yet, but get your pre-order on now.

HONORARY DOGGLERS: Jennifer Fisher and Christian Cerrito

Winning today’s coveted ‘how fun is that’ award is Jennifer Fisher and Christian Cerrito with their Red Arrow Project. Giant red arrow flags were attached to weather balloons and floated off to wander the winds, drawing attention to whatever they happened to point at and encouraging people to reexamine their surroundings. More pictures, info, and links after the jump.

QUICK: Learn Something

If you are like me, it takes a fun illustration to really get me to learn something. Part of the beauty of this site is the wonderful simplicity of this thing. Finally I can actually count on learning something every day.

MoHDI: The Endless Slide

This is a blast from the past and one of my favorite inventions on the MoHDI site. I like inventing stuff you know. Read the original post HERE if you must… or just read about it below.
A long time ago I had a wonderful idea for a piece of playground equipment, an Endless Slide! Despite not being able to find the original pages of notes and drawings on the idea I drew a rough spec so you can visualize such a fun piece of equipment. Obviously this drawing is not to scale but you can get the idea. By having a longer rotating slide unit more kids could enjoy this slide at the same time.

FUN VIDEOS: Cats is Funny

I’ve found that cats generally don’t laugh at videos of humans… In fact, cats don’t seem to laugh much at all. This collection of cat videos is sure to make most humans smile and perhaps even a few dogs might get a chuckle out of these…
