GET: Rock On, Rock Off

All’s normal with the lights on, it’s when the lights go out that this shirt rocks (well, glows really). Fun, ya?

FUN: Interruptions (3 for 1)

Three different VMA-style interruptions. First up, the high tech. Kanye interrupts the doogle.

Well he interrupts any web site really. Check out Kanyelicious for the bookmarklet, then start sending your friends interrupted links, sit back, and smile.

Next up, video style. Wait for it, wait for it – boom – Jack White pulls a Kanye on his own people.

How fun is that, right?

Lastly, the lo-tech. And an even more obscure refference. Remember at the VMA’s when Lil Mama got up on stage durring Jay-Z’s performace to, well, stand and mug?

The Official Flat Lil Mama Project works as such:

  1. Identify a situation where FLAT LIL MAMA has no place being.
  2. Download the PDF of FLAT LIL MAMA in black & white or color.
  3. Print FLAT LIL MAMA and cut her out.
  4. Take a photo of FLAT LIL MAMA inserting herself into special occasions or personal moments.
  5. Submit your photos for the world to see.

So far, Ms Mama’s been popping up in some pretty weird spots.

How fun is that?

FUN VIDEO: Riverdance Dog

I don’t know who bought that dog tap shoes, but someone owes that guy a metal.

QUIZ: Flags by Colours

After the jump you’ll find a bunch of piecharts, over 100 in a all. Each sector of the piecharts is proportional to the area of the color on one of the world’s flags. Click the pic to reveal the flag, but before you do, take a guess at what it might be. Seeing how many you know – and how many you’ve never seen before – is part of the fun.

WHERE THE HELL WAS I: Park(ing) Day NYC 2009

Awe man, Friday was Park(ing) day again… you know, the day when people take parking spaces, and build parks. This is probably the greatest thing ever and there I was, MIA. Oh well. It all started in San Francisco… check the explained video above, then check in with the NYC site through the day (and week) as they post photos and videos from this years.

NERD-OUT: Redesign Google

Like Google but find it kind of bla. Think you could do better design-wise? Have a shot. Redesign Google gives you editing capability a la Word Press theme editor. Play around, watch your changes take effect as you make them, then upload your style for others to judge. Sure, there’s cash on the line (well, a MacBook Air really) but more importantly, if you download the plug-in, the Google you make can be the Google you use. Even better, others can use your redesigned Google as well.

Below are two of my top pics thus far. There’s the two-column system, and the naked lady search buddy…

…how fun is that?

Honorary Doggler: Kyle van Blerk

Remember last week when we were trying to find haikus in text around us? Kyles found some good one’s right on the front of packs of cigarettes. And all it took was some correction fluid. How fun is that?

PLAY: Scribble

It’s not so much a game as a thought. Here we are, it’s Monday. You’ve got the To Do list, the status meeting on the horizon, the phone’s already ringing and the day’s hardly started… take a minute to reset. Get the train rolling on the right track and have yourself a good scribble. Go ahead. Make a mess. Pencils, markers, pens—anything will do—if you can’t find the right gear, Crayola’s set you up digitally. It’s not nearly as tactile, but it’ll get the juices flowing. Go for it.
