Y’know what, it was just a matter of time. Seriously, the guy showed no respect for his co-workers or his employer. Yeah, it was funny, but really the guy was goofing off at work and posting it on the internet, he pretty much deserved to get fired.
If I worked at that company, I’d be glad to see the back of him. I’m all for having a bit of fun at work, but you should show some respect for the people that pay you and work with you. If you can’t, find some people to work for and with that you DO respect.

@9squirrels You see too little to really draw such a conclusion.
If someone was spending his lunchbreak or zoomdoggle browsing time making a video blog instead that person is welcome to do it. (Although some videos, if for real, might be on the edge in a very uptight work environment)
If someone is spending all his work hours goofing off like that, he should hit the streets immediately.
However, I don’t think that is actually the case here, but I could be wrong.

Aww that sucks. I guess it was kind of likely to happen sooner or later. But, I hope Scotty knows he’s found his calling. Making funny vids for people to bing. Good luck Scotty!

I notice that his boss’s email is not completely obscured. It’s obviously brianboquist at gmail dot com. It would be pretty fun to start an internet email campaign to help him get his job back…

9squirrels: right, and do you deserve to be fired every time you check a sports score or check out a link your friend sends you? Chill out. Just cause Scotty uses his down time more creatively than you…
It’s a huge bummer that he got fired. I’m all for trying the boss email and seeing if it’s real and if we can get him his job back… creative people shouldn’t have to live in fear!

I’m not a fan of having a conventional job, so this whole ordeal is just hilarious to me.

Also, I’d have a hard time not being a dick to a boss who chewed me out like that. I wish I knew what that place of business did…

True, he may have only been goofing off during his lunch and after hours. He may also have been pretty hard working the rest of the time.
But watch series 2 Episode one. The one where he sings the song “I can’t get fired”. Then imagine that you caught someone who worked for you doing that… Wouldn’t you be just a teensy bit pissed off about that?
I do however hope he finds something that he enjoys and that makes use of his creative talent. He’s obviously a pretty funny guy, and pretty clever.

@9squirrels: I don’t know if I would be pissed, I hope I would have a good chuckle about it before talking to Scotty about how we would be able to combine the videos and work.
Googling (or binging) Brian Boquist doesn’t help too much without some extra infromation, unless his boss really is the oregon state senator…

@NomeN Scotty’s youtube page does say that he’s from Oregon…
Pretty funny if this other Brian Boquist isn’t the senator and feels that if someone has “bung” him they’re find a really great guy (or whatever he said).

Maybe I’m just old and boring… Probably just too bitter after spending so long working somewhere where I was one of 2 people working hard in a team of 6. Thank god I got out of there.

Wow… this is really BAD ACTING. Especially the (voice) acting of the “boss”. Try again. Or maybe its supposed to be some kind of parody? I’m too tired to find out… zzz.
