Honorary Doggler: Evan Roth

I know making these stickers and putting them on things isn’t really “fun for the sake of fun,” it’s a marketing play designed to get people to post these pictures and mention that Even’s show “Available Online For Free” is opening and you can download the book (what the crap, it totally worked, go figure)… but still, you’ve got to admit it’s a fun idea. Even funner that reading about it is sticking the stickers to some stuff yourself. You can download the template here. How fun is that?

FUN VIDEO: Multipurpose Cat Door

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: Cut a hole in your door and you never know what’s going to come through. Amazing.

Special thanks to my name Neevy for sending it in.

Towel Origami

“Finally…Busy, Stay-At-Home Mom Reveals How To Make Cute Towel Animals Quickly And Easily — For Only $1.00!” I’m a little confused by the cost-structure here (pay a buck now for the online videos and, if you don’t return them – but aren’t they online? – get billed $19.47 more later), but intrigued beyond belief. Plus, as my lady-friend keeps complaining about my inability to properly put away a towel, how impressed will she be when she finds it sculpted like an elephant. Still on the floor mind you, but an elephant. How fun is that?

NOTE: All of these same videos seem to be on YouTube as well. And I’m pretty sure they don’t charge you for watching.

Walk Through Walls-ish, aka The Studfinder

SUPERUSELESS SUPERPOWER: Walk Through Walls-ish, aka The Studfinder
There are all kinds of walls. Brick ones. Stone ones. Berlin ones. This power vibrates your molecules allowing you to walk through walls, but only halfway. You never actually make it through the opposite side of the wall you entered.

Trapped in a madman’s labyrinth?
See what brand of sheetrock he used.

Wake up hungover on Amontillado wine and enclosed in an Italian catacomb?
Admire the masonry work as you slowly suffocate.

Omegle: Talk To Strangers

Omegle is like an IM you don’t have to sign-up for… but one you can’t connect with friends with. Er, well, maybe new friends. Push the “start chat” button and it pairs you off randomly with someone else willing to play. How fun is that? The first time I pushed it my new found friend started our session with “don’t be boring… please don’t be boring.” The second time I took matters into my own hands.

It’s like a party-line from the ’80s. Or a chat room without a subject. How fun is that? Really though, it is kind of addictive. What happened when you pushed the button? Do share.

FUN VIDEO: Live Action Game Boy

“This live-action Super Mario Game Boy reenactment is so cool that the president stopped by.” It’s like all of my favorite memories, recreated by Michel Gondry. Of course it comes from Japan. Amazing.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: The Unemployment Olympics

Sorry I’m so late with this one—marking your calendar might even take to long—still, even if you can’t get in on the action (and there’s no saying that you can’t, RSVP this very second just in case), it might be fun just to bask in the glow. Bottom line: Just because you’re unemployed, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun… as we’ll all soon discover, it’s the most “affordable luxury” ever.

Play Camera Mind

It’s almost more of a test than a game really. Click the last dot that appears on the screen to test your visual memory. I got a 10… How’d you do? Scores please in the comments section.

Facebook Photo Hack

This is actually so simple, I can’t believe it didn’t occure to me sooner.

1. Do some measuring to figure out where the Facebook background switch (from the blue/grey header, to the white of the actual profile) would fall in your picture.

2. Draw a line at that spot… fill in everything above the line with the same Facebook blue/grey. Well, not everything—where’s the fun in that—something’s got to poke above the line.

3. Upload as normal.

It should turn out like this:

This is just the tip of the iceburg. Feel free to make pictures that look like you’re climbing out the picture, reaching over to poke the “wall” button, all sorts of stuff. How fun is that?

FUN VIDEO: Diamond Shreddies

Shreddies is a Canadian breakfast cereal. They needed a re-branding, but instead of doing any of the normal stuff (“new and improved”, change the logo, you know the drill), they did the most drastic thing they could think of. Or not. It’s all in your perspective I guess. How fun is that?

Big thanks to Jeremy for sending this my way.
