Playing With Brainwaves

Whoa, the New York Toy Fair was littered with games played with your brain. No, really though. I don’t mean brain-teasers, I mean “put on this headset and think that ball through the hoop.” Behold, the Mattel Mindflex and Star Wars Force Trainer ($80 and $130, respectively):

Call me a bully, but when has wearing headgear ever been cool? Don’t underestimate how important it is to look it. It’s why the segue never caught on. The future is not going to be this dorky.

I saw something like this at NextFest in Chicago. You competed with another person and whoever could relax more moved the small ball into a goal. They had a display of the player’s brain activity and everything. I played but lost. I got a lot on my mind and the other guy was some Ti Chi enthusiast.

Both of those look really poor in comparisson to Emotiv (http://www.emotiv.com/). Those only use your mind to lift the object, emotiv can detect some typical thoughts and facial expressions.
