Fun With Blind Spots

STEP ONE: Focus your eyes on the black square with your face about 8 inches from the screen.
STEP TWO: Close your right eye. The left spot should disappear. If not, play with the distance of your head to the screen. You may have to move your head forward and back a bit to find your blind spot. Note that the fill-in area is yellow - since the surround of the blind spot is yellow. That is the visual system’s best guess as to what should be there!
STEP THREE: Close your left eye. The right spot will disappear. All set up?
STEP FOUR: Click over to the Yale Fill-In Seminar (clicking the picture will get you there) for more fun with blind-spots.

Be warned, they get more complex. By the time Van Gosh looses his ear, you’ll be sending this to a friend.
