High Five Power
My sometimes collaborators and constant conspirators Cunning (one of the agencies I consult for), have recently worked out what might be the funnest power source of all time: the high five! Spencer Holtaway gets the credit for both the idea, and the nifty drawings. But here’s the really cool bit, Cunning, being the type of guys they are (doers, not talkers) have already begun crude feasibility studies on where to place the device. It’s looking like London will be the first to get it “up high.” Can’t wait to see it in action.

How many high fives would a store need to power a sandwich? that conversion was left off the inside of my TrapperKeeper.

Things like this only work in small doses. If there were a high five machine at every address like parking meters, you’d get sick of fiving.

It would have to make that satisfying slap sound otherwise there would be no catharsis. A high five is not a high five without a little noise and a little pain.

Last New Years eve I was in downtown Denver with some friends. We ran around with our arms up yelling” Free High Fives! Get your free high fives! Come one, come all, free high fives!” like carnies trying to peddle their ring toss games. We did get many high fives, but most people just tried to avoid us.
Sigh…

I probably wouldn’t care if there were a ton of these around, I have a feeling every time I saw one I would feel the need to give a high five. I mean…why not
