Yogesh’s Daily Doggle 5

Some said outsourcing my blog to India was a bad idea. Those people never met Yogesh (of course, neither have I, but setting it up is what Tasks Every Day for… he calls me every morning though). Anyway, for this, day 5, Yogesh writes:

My Dad use to always try to do something creative and different from the common man. When you ask a common man what is the use of ‘Toothpick’ you will get the answer, Toothpick is used to remove detritus from the teeth after a meal… but here he comes the Artist Scott Weaver has spent years—35, to be exact—building a 9 foot tall model of San Francisco using no less that 100,000 toothpicks. Now it’s time to think, and try to dream big as Scott Weaver. When I saw these video clip I become a big fan of him. I had a lot of Fun watching it.

Ms. Packman

I used to bring quarters and have patterns… I can’t remember my moves, but the game still makes me smile. Don’t give it a minute unless you’ve got an hour to spare though. this siren’s as addictive as she ever was.

I started playing yesterday and actually dreamt of pellets and ghosts last night. I’m almost up to the part where they marry.

What Would Your Pet Say?

This is my friend’s cat Molly.

Click either picture to hear what’s on her mind.

They can do just about anything with technology these days… talking pets and whatnot… apparently they’ve yet to crack the embeddability matrix. Still, well worth the effort. Find out what your pet has to say.

Make Your Own Elf Ears

If you’re even half the fan of the movie Elf that I am, you’ll be tickled pink by this how to on my favorite web site Instructables. The process looks fairly simple actually, cut, sew, tape, heal.

Of course, if you’re even half the fan of your actual ears that I am, you won’t be following suit either. But that’s not the point. Knowledge is power. And now, next time someone asks, “Did you elf-yourself yet?” You can look them dead in the eye and say, “No… and neither did you round-ear.”

Nude In Space

Awe man, you know how I keep saying I want to fly the vomit comet? Artist Bradley Pitts has been there and done that a couple times over. This time though, he really made it one to remember by stripping off his space suit for, well, extra space. That’s nuts.

How jealous am I? From Wired’s blog…

Bradley Pitts let it all hang out on the Russian Ilyushin 76 weightless trainer aircraft July 9th just outside of Moscow.

After six years in the making, his vision of using the experience of weightlessness as a meditation finally came to fruition. But the 20 parabolas Pitts experienced in Russia were not his first. The artist was also a propulsion engineer during the weightless testing of the MIT SPHERES project, an experiment now onboard the International Space Station. Pitts, who has a B.S. and an M.S. in aerospace engineering from MIT, did 80 parabolas with NASA before launching his own project.

Pitts wanted to experience the pure sensation of weightlessness and opted to surrender his other senses to be able to fully immerse himself in space. He closed his eyes, wore earplugs and just let his body drift through space.

“Blind, deaf, and nude is definitely the way to experience parabolic flight!” Pitts said.

Honorary Doggler: Li Wei

If you’ve been keeping up with the site, you know I love to engage in a photo-doggle or two. Chinese artist artist Li Wei takes it to the next level though. An upside-down, stop motion, crazy level he achieves without the aid of a computer. Mirror, wires, scaffolding and acrobatics? Yes. But again, computers? No. Incredible.

A warm round of applause to Mike Arauz for sending it in.

Secrets Of The Boner-Bill Revealed

Some time ago we installed something called a heat map on the site to try and figure out what parts you like, and which are, um, well, not as user friendly. Don’t worry, it’s not as creepy as it sounds. Anyway, know what we learned? It turns out the most “clicked on” part of our website is the “Boner Bill” on the right. Yeah, that little image in the “Life’s Simple Pleasures” section. But here’s the crazy part, when we did that study, clicking the bill didn’t do anything. People were just drawn to it. Ever since, we’ve set it to go to a new video every day… it’s kind of a secret.

Hey, as long as we’re telling giving up the goods, did you know that just about every day for the last month we’ve hidden a link to something Chuck Norris, Van Damme, or Steven Seagal related. It’s true. See if you can find ‘em all. Happy hunting.

Yogesh’s Daily Doggle 4

Surely you know by know that I’ve begun outsourcing some of my blogging to my virtual personal assistant Yogesh Pawar in India. We’ve never met. I’ve hired him through a company called Tasks Every Day. Still, the guy knows how to pick ‘em, I tell you what. Today Yogesh writes:

The best link ever seen before having such a different Fun as well. World’s Tallest Lego Tower! There are many tallest buildings in the world, but still LEGO TOWER is some thing different. It was made of 465,000 bricks facing high winds and dark weather kept tossing about the 100-foot boom crane used in adding new LEGO sections but still the impossible thing was made possible with such an enormous dedication. This link carries potential to entertain you and make you Smile.

Check it out.

I Rhyme All The Time

Poetry is fun for me.

But sometimes it is hard to be,

as good as I would like to be, cause finding rhymes is hard you see.

But then I found this site one night.

It made it fun, it was alright.

The progaming was sharp and tight.

Still nothing rhymed with watermelon. Ugh… FAIL.

Write in the box. Option-click to find a rhyme. Become your inner Shakespeare.
